Destination Canada is looking for a Marketing Manager, North America to join our team as we inspire travellers to explore Canada.
This role is responsible for leveraging insights and analytics to lead the development of marketing plans and tactics that strategically deliver on market and global objectives, promoting Canada as a travel destination.
Our ideal candidate is collaborative, solutions-focused and has strong and effective project management skills. The individual will leverage excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully build alliances with partners.
You have a strong marketing background and are able to develop and lead consumer marketing plans and translate them to results.

DUTIES: The successful candidate will manage the execution of multi-channel marketing programs and proactively evaluates their impact, guiding the team to make tactical optimizations and surfacing strategic recommendations; reports on performance and learnings to key stakeholders and implements adjustments to optimize performance and future planning.
The role identifies and builds investment opportunities for Team Canada partners to align and co-invest in Destination Canada’s programs to maximize collective impact in the market.
Key accountabilities:
- Contributes to the development of strategic marketing plans across one or more markets
- Leads the development of tactical plans to achieve market strategy objectives
- Leads a cross-functional team and external agencies to manage and implement marketing tactics and campaigns
- Reports on performance, provides recommendations and implements adjustments
- Leads supplier and agency management for the market
- Leads partner engagement and collaboration for the market
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Undergraduate education in Marketing (or other related field) or equivalent training and experience.
EXPERIENCE: When applying, the candidate must clearly demonstrate in writing how they meet the following experience criteria:
- Experienced marketing professional with 8-10 years of experience, including managing large-scaled integrated international cross-channel campaigns and developing strategic marketing plans
- Experience leading insights-driven marketing and performance management
- Experience in driving innovation through marketing plans and activity.
- Experience in the Canadian tourism industry is an asset
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of marketing and communications principles and practices
- In-depth level of understanding from strategy to execution across a diverse range of marketing channels, including paid media, content marketing, media/public relations
- Knowledge of agency models for marketing, branding, strategy, design and media buying
- Knowledge of the latest marketing tactics and technology
- Knowledge of the Canadian tourism industry is an asset
