Description:

Role: Marketing Officer (Postgraduate & Research Reputation)
Grade and Salary: Grade 6, £30,505 - £35,880 per annum
FTE and working pattern: 1 FTE, 35hrs per week, Monday - Friday
Holiday Entitlement: 33 days annual leave plus 9 buildings closed days (and Christmas Eve when it falls on a weekday)

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF ROLE

As part of our ongoing student recruitment objectives, we are looking for a Marketing Officer to engage with our postgraduate target audience, globally as well as here in the UK. Reporting to the Brand & Campaigns Manager, the role is also at the heart of building reputation, awareness and engagement with Heriot-Watt University among the international academic community, which will promote our world changing research and impact.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

From the delivery of targeted campaigns and CRM activities to the creation of engaging copy and content that will increase the awareness of Heriot-Watt on the global stage, we’re looking for a passionate marketing professional who can deliver the following:

  • Marketing Campaigns : Under the direction of the Brand & Campaigns Manager, write briefs, develop plans and deliver multi-channel digital, BTL and email campaigns to hit agreed KPIs.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with academic and professional service colleagues across our global campuses and in our key markets, to coordinate plans and activities that will reach and engage our target audience.
  • CRM Engagement : Work collaboratively with our CRM team to create a seamless and engaging prospect experience and drive conversion at each stage of the prospective student journey.
  • Communications : Liaise with Communications to ensure news and content that can resonate amongst postgraduate prospects and international academics is utilised/repurposed and promoted through appropriate channels.
  • Content & social media : Ensure each piece of content has a content strategy that considers the audience, format, SEO and the most appropriate channels for the content.
  • Website : Assist in improving and reviewing Heriot-Watt website, including updating copy, images and videos on relevant Heriot-Watt website pages.
  • Reporting & Analysis : Undertake and share regular marketing analytics reporting and performance tracking, particularly website and social media, with emphasis on making data-driven decisions to improve campaigns and other marketing activities.
  • Stakeholder Management : Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with academic and professional service colleagues including our global in-market recruitment teams and research team. Develop stakeholder management techniques for obtaining information in a timely manner.
  • Agency Briefing : Brief and manage external agency relationships for campaigns e.g. media agencies, design/advertising agencies, video production.
  • Teamwork : Support and contribute to the wider Marketing team where required, e.g. open days, global campaigns, etc.
