Description:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, or a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Marketing Specialist II position will promote the mission, vision, educational programs, and events of the School of Nursing (SON) using the School of Nursing’s website, social media accounts, and commercial media as appropriate. Incumbent will work with the University’s Office of Communications and Marketing, the School of Nursing’s Assistant Director of Development, and the School of Nursing’s Information Technology personnel when necessary to accomplish goals. A successful candidate will have excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement short- and long-term marketing strategies to create and increase awareness of the School of Nursing.
- Work with the School of Nursing’s IT personnel to develop web content (Dean’s message, PR for research, teaching, practice, service).
- Regular posts on the School of Nursing’s social media accounts to promote educational programs and events, etc.
- Work with Office of Student Services to develop materials for recruitment (open house, brochures, workshops, videos (oversight), admission deadlines, etc.)
- PR for new grants, research/teaching/practice/service awards/honors, research/teaching/practice findings, publications, and exhibits.
- Promote SON presence at University events (Raise Some L; Alumni Fellow Week; Research!Louisville, etc.).
- SON Newsletter and communication needs of the Dean’s office.
- Work within budgetary constraints.
- Special projects as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in marketing or similar field.
- Graphic design experience.
- Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing.
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
