Destination Canada is looking for Marketing Specialist, International to join our Vancouver team as we inspire travellers to explore Canada.
As Marketing Specialist reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, you will support the development, implementation and evaluation of integrated, multi-channel marketing and sales programs.
Your excellent communication and organizational skills will come in handy as you collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth execution of campaigns and projects.

Note: The successful candidate will be working under Destination Canada’s Hybrid Working Model. This model requires all employees to work 2-3 days/week in the office in Vancouver. The remainder of the work week can be spent working from a home office.
DUTIES : Key duties include consumer marketing planning, coordination support for trade/sales initiatives, supporting content marketing activities aligned with the strategy, reviewing and reporting on program results, supporting in training, management and overseeing deliverables of our agencies of record, as well as coordinating key projects as directed by the Manager.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Degree from a recognized university in marketing, communications or business administration, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience .

EXPERIENCE: When applying, the candidate must clearly demonstrate in writing how they meet the following experience criteria:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management and managing complex projects.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in delivering marketing campaigns to consumers and/or travel trade.
  • Experience in the tourism industry is an asset.
  • Experience working with strategic marketing and paid media agencies is an asset.
  • Experience working with international markets is an asset.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of project management and planning including financial and administrative management.
  • Knowledge of marketing, promotions and media buying practices.
  • Understanding of content marketing and communication channels.
  • Knowledge of agency models for marketing, branding, strategy, design, media buying and performance measurement.
  • Knowledge of the travel trade industry.
  • Knowledge of various software packages including MS Office Suite (i.e.: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and project management tools, such as Smartsheet.
  • Knowledge of the latest marketing and technology trends an asset.
  • Knowledge of the travel industry and marketing channels in Canada and/or global markets (UK, France, Germany, Australia, Mexico, South Korea, China, Japan, US) is an asset.
