About the Role
As a Marketing Strategy Lead in our Australian Retail Marketing team, you’ll play a key role in helping the General Manager Marketing, the Head of Marketing Planning and Operations, the Marketing Leadership Team, the Growth and Insights and Data teams, and other key stakeholders to shape the long term vision for Marketing, develop the strategic roadmap, design organisational blueprints, and implement strategic initiatives aimed at driving the bank’s Brand and Commercial performance.
You will play a pivotal role in analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities, and formulating strategies to achieve our business objectives. You will support in the creation, design and prioritisation of the Marketing strategy and plans to harmonise our Brand experience, drive efficiency and effectiveness across the portfolio, and increase the commerciality of the marketing team.
The Marketing Strategy Lead role is designed to complement other functional areas within the team and broader business by providing a longer-term and more holistic business view on matters of Retail Marketing strategy. The role will help bring together work underway across our Product Marketing teams, Partnerships and Customer Transition, the work on automation & transformation and GenAI capability, and projects focused on segments and whole-of-customer.

What will your day look like?
This newly created role will be accountable for developing the overarching Marketing Strategy for Australia Retail. Specifically:
Leading the development of the holistic Marketing strategy across the marketing team, balancing short and long term objectives, and individual team objectives vs whole-of-portfolio economics. You will partner with the Marketing Leadership Team and Head of Growth and Insights to drive prioritisation and alignment
Creating a 3 year strategic roadmap for Retail Marketing, encompassing Retail OKR’s, and marketing-specific drivers and enablers of Efficiency and Effectiveness
Leading annual strategic planning in partnership with the Head of Planning and Operations
Managing key strategic enablement projects
Internal communication including Senior Management presentations
Understanding future trends within the marketing industry (e.g Gen AI) and defining how ANZ Australia marketing will respond to these future trends
Improving the commerciality of Marketing through Marketing Measurement and Marketing ROI improvements, including the prioritisation of advanced analytics and insights
