Description:

At Plum, we’re on a mission to maximise wealth for all. We’re making saving money effortless and turning investing into something everyone can do. Our journey began back in 2017, when we became one of the first to use artificial intelligence and automation to simplify personal finance. Fast forward to today, and we’ve already helped people save £2 billion across 10 European markets.
Named the UK’s fastest-growing fintech in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50, our success is down to the passion and dedication of our diverse team. Based in our London, Athens and Nicosia offices, 170 talented people work together to empower people to do more with their money. And now, the team is growing!

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have experience as a (copy)writer: you’re a writer now or you have been before. We’re really sorry, but we have a lot to do moment, so we need someone who can hit the ground running and we won’t accept first-time writers without experience right now.
  • But not necessarily in fintech: we love different perspectives and think it adds rather than subtracts if you come from a different industry. So if you’re reading this job description but are worried about not having direct experience in fintech, don’t worry! We’d love to read your application.
  • You know how to write to a brief: you understand how to turn a brief into a great piece of writing that is appropriate to the medium it lives in
  • You are a great writer: you can break complex topics into simple concepts in a clear and engaging way. Money is hard, your words make it easier.
  • You’re curious: we care a lot about making complex things easy. You’re bound to come across a concept you’ve not heard of before during your time at Plum, so we’re looking for someone who’s willing to get into the detail quickly and learn.
  • You can multi-task: there’s lots going on at Plum, which means you’ll be working on a few things at once. You know how to prioritise based on impact and can work with stakeholders to make sure writing is completed for when it’s needed.
  • You’re familiar with different writing for different mediums: you can write for a push notification as well as you can for a blog, and you know the difference between how to write for an email or an out-of-home ad.

Responsibilities:

A LITTLE ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re hiring for a Marketing Writer to join the Brand and Product Marketing team at Plum.
We’ve been working on an exciting brand refresh and tone of voice project and now we’re looking for someone who can take this work out into the world, own it and evolve it over time.
There are few things more important than the words we choose to use, especially when it comes to money. So we’re looking for someone who can meet that challenge by writing simply, clearly and empathetically.
You’ll work closely with our Product Writer and Brand Designers. And your day-to-day team will be the wider Plum marketing team, including Brand, Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, and CRM.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Owning and evolving our tone of voice: making sure it stays relevant and appropriate for our audience and company goals, and educating Plumsters on how to use it.
  • Crafting clear, simple, engaging and copy that is aligned to our tone of voice: across our marketing channels and app. Including for our website, social media, emails, push notifications, digital ad campaigns and bigger brand campaigns too.
  • Collaborating with our marketing and product teams: on creative briefs for their channel strategies and go-to-market campaigns.
  • Editing writing by others and giving them feedback: making sure their writing is aligned with our tone of voice and brand position.
  • Tracking the performance of your writing: and using your findings to improve it.
