Description:

Equipment Technician
Location: 300 Roddick Rd, Markham, Ontario
Position Type: Full-time- Permanent- Day Shift
Reporting: Lead Equipment Technician
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm
Responsibilities

In the position of Equipment Technician your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Must adhere to Miller Waste Systems safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Ensure equipment operate cost effectively, while maintaining the high safety standards.
  • Record all conditions of equipment following the Preventative maintenance program
  • Trouble shoot, Repair and Maintain of Conveyor Systems, Compactors, Wheeled loaders, Skid Steers and General site equipment.
  • Welding and cutting as required
  • General repairs to facility as required which could include fire suppression system, Over head doors, plumbing lighting etc.
  • Assist with trouble shoot and diagnosing Transfer Station equipment breakdowns

Requirements

  • Must be a good team player.
  • Obtain Valid G license with clean record.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Previous experience working with machines and equipment maintenance is an asset.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow all Miller Waste Safety policies & procedures (i.e., Lock out/tag out procedures).
  • Must be flexible to work weekends and overtime as required.
  • Proven to safe working habits.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
