Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We welcome applications for the Analytical Chemistry Laboratory Technician position in the Respiratory phenomics lab at the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London. We are looking for a dedicated individual who can provide valuable technical and practical support for our breath analysis laboratory. The lab is a part of our research facilities within the airway disease section.
Our laboratories are equipped with cIMS-QToF-MS, GC-MS, and GC-IMS which are all being used to develop methods for volatile analysi from various types of samples. The lab supports the core areas of interest within our Section including methodological studies, preclinical and clinical studies related to airway disease.
This is a full-time fixed contract for 1 year and we look forward to receiving applications from candidates who are keen to contribute to our dynamic and innovative team.
WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING
You will support the operational needs of the analytical laboratory and facilitate all the research activities required of this laboratory. This will include:
Responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the lab and of equipment involving supporting and advising research staff with experimental work and advanced analytical equipment needs
Providing technical and general support in the lab to support research activities including operating the instruments, maintaining, and calibrating the instrument. Writing SOPs.
