Description:

Applications are invited for the regular position of part-time Massage Therapy Placement Coordinator in the Allied Health Division. The starting salary is $ 33.28/hr for a 24-hour work week. Additional hours may be required at peak times during the year such as start or end of term. The position is located at the Welland Campus.
Reporting to the Associate Dean. This position provides support to the massage therapy by coordinating, arranging and monitoring clinical placements and maintaining student and program files.
The Incumbent is self-motivated with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, while working to give placement partners and students the best clinical placement experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Diploma in Massage Therapy from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with College of Massage Therapists Ontario
  • 3-years practical experience with knowledge of working in clinical environments and outreach programs
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster/support the same with students and colleagues.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Experience in a post-secondary clinical teaching and learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Acting as a resource for students, placement agencies and college departments in all field placement situations as needed within the program
  • Maintaining student and program files and miscellaneous correspondence for the program as it relates to placements
  • Working in collaboration with academic administrators, other college departments, students, placement partners, industry partners and the general public
  • Distributing, collecting and maintaining required documentation for students, and for placement and placement sites
  • Providing direction to appropriate program team member regarding field placement issues and reporting to the program manager and Associate Dean/Dean
  • Attend Advisory Committee meetings to participate/advise as pertains to placement requirements/issues
  • Incumbent is self-motivated with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, while working to give placement partners and students the best placement experience
