JOB DESCRIPTION

The Master Data Specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate master data related to BOMs, Jobs, and supply chain elements within our ERP system. The role includes developing and implementing tools to improve data management and streamline supply chain operations, including MRP processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, MRP, and supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Geographic Scope: NZ based, global install base of equipment (predominately US)
  • Number of colleagues directly reporting to this job: none
  • Act as a safety leader and put safety first in all responsibilities
  • Master Data Management:
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of master data, including materials, parts, products, and vendor information.
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures to maintain high data quality standards.
  • Regularly audit and cleanse data to identify and correct inconsistencies, duplicates, and errors.
  • BOM and Job Creation:
  • Create and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) for new and existing products, ensuring all components are correctly listed and linked within the ERP system.
  • Manage Job creation data, ensuring that production jobs are accurately defined and aligned with manufacturing and supply chain requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement teams to ensure BOM and Job data are current and reflect the latest design and production changes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for master data-related inquiries and issues, providing guidance and support to other departments, including design, supply chain, operations, procurement, and production planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data alignment across all business units and support efficient supply chain operations.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Generate regular reports on data accuracy, completeness, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) related to master data management and supply chain performance.
  • Document data management processes, tool usage, and best practices to support training and knowledge sharing within the organization.

Future support (12 mos)

Tool Development and Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for improving data management processes and tools, particularly in relation to BOM, Job creation, and supply chain management.
  • Design, develop, and implement tools (e.g., databases, software applications, or Excel macros) to automate data management tasks and improve supply chain efficiency.
  • Work closely with operations, supply chain and engineering teams to integrate new tools and processes into existing systems, ensuring seamless operation and minimal disruption.

Supply Chain and MRP Support:

  • MRP Process Support: Assist in the setup and maintenance of MRP parameters to optimize material flow, reduce lead times, and ensure efficient production scheduling.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to manage inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and reduce excess inventory through effective data management and MRP optimization.
  • Supplier Data Management: Maintain accurate supplier master data, including lead times, and minimum order quantities, to support effective supply chain operations and MRP calculations.
  • Demand Planning: Support the demand planning process by ensuring that material master data accurately reflects forecasted demand and production schedules.
