Description:

We are looking for a Master Student (x|f|m) for the Corporate Research department at Sartorius Stedim Cellca GmbH Ulm. In this role, you will be involved in the planning, maintaining and execution of a project as part of the thesis requirement. This position is available full-time for nine months (3 month internship and 6 month thesis)

  • Conducting a defined project on cell-free protein expression (CFE)
  • Supporting the development of cell lines for inducible protein expression in mammalian cells
  • Evaluating and optimizing systems for the induction of protein expression
  • Producing cell lysate from genetically modified cell lines
  • Analyzing improvements in CFE using molecular and biochemical methods
  • Assisting in the enhancement of CFE through genome editing and/or genome engineering of cells
  • Participating in research projects to gain new insights and continuously improve the process
  • Creating and editing development reports and method protocols

What will convince us

  • You are currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, Bioprocess Engineering, or a related field
  • You enjoy working in the laboratory and are capable of learning new methods
  • Knowledge in mammalian cell cultures, genome engineering, and molecular methods is desirable
  • You possess good written and verbal communication skills in English
