    Tennis Australia (TA) is one of the largest rights-holder, sport’s governing body and media production houses in Asia-Pacific and each year we deliver Australia’s premier sports and entertainment event, the Australian Open (AO).     We are now looking for a contract Match Operations Lead to join our team from October 2024 until February 2026.

    About the role
    The role will also be responsible for leveraging the successful AO program to support and implement successful Ballkids programs nationally and in Asia including the management of successful partnerships associated with the program.

In this role you will:

  • Lead marketing, application & communication processes for the Tennis Australia Ballkid Program (inc. AO & State based events) e.g. lead the implementation and delivery of the national management plan for Ballkid recruitment and communication to all AO and state-based events
  • Provide world class Ballkid Program experiences, leveraging the AO Ballkid Program success to attract and retain Ballkids nationally, making their experiences unforgettable
  • Accountability for Ballkid Program delivery, ensuring opportunities for streamlined processes across the nation regarding consistency of the Ballkid Program experiences
  • Compliance with all Integrity & OHS policies, procedures and requirements, e.g. ensure all operational components of the Ballkid Program operate within the framework of the TA Safeguarding Children & Member Protection Policy (e.g. site / international ventures)
  • Chaperone Ball kids to and from international events if required, leveraging the success of the Australian Grand Slam to capitalise on international opportunities to grow the program and experiences for all participants
  • Leadership and development of team members, coaching, motivating and installing confidence in others to realise their strengths and ability to succeed

About you

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Business, Sports Administration, Event Management or similar
  • Previous experience coordinating major events would be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience working with program design
  • Sound experience working with children and parents in delivering exceptional experiences
  • First aid and CPR certificates are desirable
  • Demonstrated experience with Event Management Systems (IT) and websites beneficial
  • Excellent word processing (Microsoft & Office products) and presentation documentation skills
  • High level of attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to set priorities and work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a high performing team
  • Possess refined interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships
  • Display creative skills and innovative thinking
  • Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements (weekends and after-hours work required at times)
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
