Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Material Flow Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing material flow systems that optimize production efficiency and reduce waste. This includes analyzing current processes, identifying areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions to improve material flow. The Material Flow Engineer will work closely with production teams to ensure that material flow systems are integrated seamlessly into production processes.
Material Flow Engineer
- Develops and implements advanced methodologies to optimize internal material flow, ensuring synchronization with production schedules and prompt availability of materials at specified points.
- Performs in-depth data analysis of material and inventory, aligning with Sears’ goals of inventory minimization.
- Collaborates across operational domains to diagnose and resolve material performance issues and complexities.
- Engineers innovative solutions and executes strategies for material replenishment, conveyance, and presentation, leveraging automation and cutting-edge technology to enhance operational efficiency and streamline product and information flow.
- Deploys warehouse optimization initiatives encompassing value stream organization, flow-oriented layouts, consumption-driven location allocations, storage area maximization, packaging optimization, visual management, standardization, daily operational oversight, and safety/ergonomics.
- Establishes and supervises a robust inventory accuracy protocol, conducting audits and communicating findings with actionable insights for process refinement.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in material flow engineering or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
