Description:
Ecolab, the leading global developer of premium cleaning, sanitizing and maintenance products and services for the hospitality, institutional and industrial markets is seeking a Material Handler - Forklift Operator (Afternoon Shift) who will be responsible for all aspects of safely handling materials in the production area.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certified Forklift Driver and 3 years experience driving in a manufacturing environment, experience in the chemical industry is preferred
- Ability to use basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and decimals

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to complete training and master skills that are required by position (including but not limited to Hazardous Material Safety and TDG training)
- Ability to understand and track safety, quality and productivity data, including run rates, fill weights, and averages
- Mechanical aptitude
- Experience with Total Production Management (TPM) & Continuous Improvement Systems
- Strong attention to detail, good communicator and a team member
- Ability to meet physical requirements of position

Responsibilities:
- Determining needed packaging materials and locating these items. Using forklifting equipment (counterbalance and stand-up) to keep all production locations supplied with packaging and raw materials. Removing finished products from lines and staging areas to maintain production rates. Properly storing pallets of finished goods and restocking partial pallets of leftover raw material and packaging supplies at the end of a production run.
- Checking raw material, product and package appearance for any inconsistencies from specification. Unusual raw material, product or package appearance should be brought to the attention of the supervisor immediately.
- Performing daily safety and operational checks on equipment being used and documenting this information. Also documenting any other production and quality data as required.
- Ensuring that packaged products meet specification and requirements, meaning in a manner that conforms with laws pertaining to transportation of chemicals, meets customer needs, and ensures that the product arrives at the destination intact.
- Ensuring that all loads moved are securely fastened to the pallet as appropriate.
- Performing battery changing as necessary to maintain operation of equipment.
- Other duties as required by business needs or as assigned by leaders.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Follow all safety policies and procedures and wear all required PPEs.
