Description:

MATERIAL SCIENTIST WITH DEEP KNOWLEDGE OF INDUSTRIAL DESIGN

AAVAA is Hiring!
We are looking for a Material Scientist with expertise in nano-material-polymer composite based bio-sensors and Industrial Design (Casting and molding, 3D modeling, and Design of Electronics) to assist in developing advanced polymer bio-sensors for head-worn electronic devices. The position is available as early as July 2024. With AAVAA, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team building a unique listening device that allows people to hear what matters by processing their surrounding sounds based on input from their brain and bio-signals. Our goal is to give everyone control of their auditory environment, enhance the sounds they want to hear, and suppress distracting noise.

In addition to solving one of the biggest challenges of human health, you will get:

  • A generous salary, benefits, and vacation program
  • A safe, healthy, and inclusive work environment

We are looking for problem solver engineers and scientists who have a collaborative and meticulous spirit. The applicant should have a Master’s or PhD degree in a relevant field. We are dedicated to increasing diversity in science and technology; therefore, candidates of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Please see below for requested areas of experience.

BASIC SKILLS:

  • Advanced material synthesis of biocompatible materials (composites, fibers, polymers, etc.) with the goal of attaining improved material properties and/or additional functionality (thermally/electrically conductive materials, nanocomposites, sustainable polymers, etc.)
  • Materials processing and testing
  • Biosensor materials development and characterization
  • Knowledge of bio-sensors for electrophysiological recording and materials, finishes, and specifications (SAE, ASME, ANSI, etc.)
  • Computer Aided Design software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, etc.)
  • Rapid prototyping and testing
  • Casting and molding
  • Hand soldering of surface mount devices
  • Electrical engineering and design

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Material chemistry, physical properties characterization, and processing, of polymers
  • Design for manufacturability practices for low and high volume output
  • Material development for manufacturing of healthcare and/or medical devices
  • Microfabrication and clean-room processing
