LIBURDI TURBINE SERVICES™ offers a wide range of engineering services and component repairs in support of the gas turbine industry for both aero derivative and industrial frame engines through facilities located both in Dundas, Ontario and Mooresville, North Carolina. The company specializes in the use of advanced technologies for the refurbishment of super alloy components.
Position Summary:
The successful candidate will become part of a multi-disciplinary team of highly motivated individuals engaged in the analysis and repair of gas turbine hot section components at our Dundas facility. This position offers:

Primary Activities in the role include:
Metallurgical investigations (condition assessments and failure analysis)
Materials selection
Development of material specifications
Design and execution of experiments and data analysis pursuant to the development of new and improved materials (weld and braze fillers, coatings) and manufacturing processes
Relevant Experience:
We are looking for an engineer or engineer-in-training with a minimum of two years of experience in the materials engineering field.
The skills and aptitudes needed for the position are as follows:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Fluency in English is required
Strong self-management and organizational skills
Initiative and ability to multi-task
General experience/knowledge in the following areas is considered relevant to the position:
Metallurgical sample preparation.
Microscopy (optical and scanning electron microscopy).
Mechanical testing of materials.
Phase transformations in materials (thermodynamic and mass transport phenomena).
Corrosion of materials.
