Material Management Specialist I: 0-2 years’ experience in of material handling, warehousing, inventory, and/or logistics, material planning, purchasing, or other related supply chain experience
Material Management Specialist II: Bachelor’s degree with in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Legal, or other related discipline OR in lieu of a degree, 4 years of material handling, warehousing, inventory, and/or logistics, material planning, purchasing, or other related supply chain experience
Material Management Specialist Sr: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Legal, or other related discipline and minimum 5+ years of combined material purchasing, supplier contracting, vendor
management, or other related supply chain experience OR in lieu of a degree, minimum 7+ years of material purchasing, material handling, warehousing, inventory and/or logistics, material

planning, or other related supply chain experience

  • Minimum 3+ years of energy industry supply chain experience preferred

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

The Supply Chain (SC) organizational model includes materials management specialists at a site(s) currently supporting Utility Operations and Construction. The foundational SC knowledge and skills required for the position are the same regardless of location and may expand should Command implement in Transmission. The primary difference in the material management specialist roles is the additional level of expertise in the operating processes, practices, standards and procedures required to support material availability.
The Material Management Specialist is considered an intermediate level position in this job family and responsible for all the inbound and outbound material requests. This role controls the daily work load within Command (WMS), reviews the Material Requests (MRs) from previous days picks to either complete or backorder material requests and oversees all the backorder MR’s. The Material Management Specialist is responsible for the overall support of the warehousing functions related to the EDC operations. The Material Management Specialist supports the cycle counting process. The key SC interfaces for this role are Warehousing, Inventory, and Logistics local and system teams, Inventory Management, Category Management, and Central Procurement Group (CPG), and Compliance.
The role works under close supervision to ensure work inputs and outputs are completed on schedule, consider all elements of the warehousing, inventory, and logistics processes, and provide value to the business including an understanding of operational, contractual and safety risks. The specialist will develop an understanding of how the site(s) optimally places its demand plan into the relevant marketplace and/or by collaborating with other SC departments, such as Central Procurement Group, Category Management and the WIL network. These duties shall be performed in a manner that ensures materials are processed in the most cost effective, efficient, and strategic method with strict adherence to Entergy’s policies, procedures, and core values.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and influence suppliers to proactively identify any safety concerns.
  • Incident Response:
  • Perform storm role duties as assigned through the Storm Assignment Management System (SAMS) and/or the nuclear Emergency response Organization (ERO).
  • Specific Incident Response role: Supply Chain Site Material Supply Lead for Utility Operations situations.
  • Work Processes:
  • Analyze, edit and schedule jobs to be picked by warehouse staff
  • Communicate material shortages to customers. Provide customer interface for T&D storekeepers, managers, engineers, EAs and OCs.
  • Help to resolve material issues with warehouse and Purchasing & Inventory Management staff. Provide backup support for other EDC positions.
  • Problem solve material issues in the warehouse processes. Monitor daily cycle counts in warehouse.
  • Assist in the management of EDC transportation. Help maintain EDC equipment utilization and maintenance log
  • Monitor quality control of EDC processes. Critical Storm Role to coordinate material needs to the field.
  • Value Creation:
  • Deliver and document savings through inventory optimization, material transfer opportunities, service level commitments, , cost avoidance, etc..
  • Process and Reporting Compliance:
  • Ensure all requirements for safety, savings, diversity, document retention, , cycle counting and other areas of compliance are met.
  • Partnership/Relationships:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure SC is addressing stakeholder needs pro-actively and in the most beneficial way for Entergy;
  • Establish/maintain relationships with suppliers/partners, based on the ethical business practices as set forth in the Standards of Conduct and Integrity and Entergy’s SC Polices.
  • Communications:
  • Maintain open communications between suppliers, stakeholders and within SC to ensure that prompt, thorough, accurate, pertinent and complete information is provided.
