Description:
An Exciting position has arisen to work within NWSSP Supply Chain Logistics & Transport as a Materials Management Supervisor.
The main base will be University Hospital of Wales, with the expectation and requirement to also work out of our National Distribution Centre, Imperial Park (IP5) in Newport, NP10 8BE twice a week.
THE JOB OVERVIEW IS AS FOLLOWS:
To work with the Logistics & Materials Management Business Partner within designated Health Boards on the roll out and implementation of the Stock Management Inventory System Supply X and Scan 4 Safety project within Wales.
You will be required to work closely with the Wards//Departments and Theatre environments within the Health Board along with the Materials Management Team based in IP5. Working under your own initiative on day-to-day tasks and demands, but also take direction from the Project Team. Working closely with Stock Controllers and clinical staff with day-to-day issues and training.
This is a key supporting role to the effective running of an Inventory Management System. The post holder will have a base but will be expected to work across any of the hospital sites to support the Health Board services at any time.
The working hours will be 08:30am to 16:30

To work under own initiative (without close supervision) but with the day-to-day support from the Materials Managers/Project Team and senior staff members, across Health Board sites.
To communicate effectively to stakeholders, suppliers, various departments, and senior members of staff.
To provide support across all ‘go-live’ sites.
To manage and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained, within wards/departments and assist with reviewing par levels on a regular basis. To assist Stock Controllers with achieving rationalisation of stock by optimising stock levels and dealing with slow or non-moving stock.
To ensure system generated cycle count tasks for checking stock quantities are monitored and actioned daily.
To resolve queries with stock issues, including stock deficiency, damaged goods, and unclear orders, using own initiative and provide advice for corrective procedures to minimise the risk for future events.
To utilise various computer systems that assist with the implementation of Scan for Safety.
