Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and forward thinking Materials Manager to work with our great team in our Monchengladbach fulfillment center!
Part of our Isolation Valves business unit, the site collaborates with numerous Emerson teams across Europe to assemble and prepare our own solutions for delivery to our customers. This role will have full responsibility of the site (including full Cost Control, Profit and Loss responsibility shared with other parts of the matrix organization), with a key emphasis on respecting safety and quality standards, continuous improvement and maintaining a culture that reflects Emerson’s values and expectations. Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Leading and managing the planning, execution, and successful completion of multiple projects, ensuring effective control over budgets, timelines, and resources.
  • Developing and implementing strategic policies for planning, purchasing, and supply chain management, including initiatives for inventory optimization.
  • Driving improvements in planning processes, including enhancements to Oracle systems, to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Operations and Finance, to create accurate monthly and quarterly shipment forecasts and budgets, focusing on on-time delivery and cost control.
  • Ensuring a balanced approach to cost efficiency and resource utilization, optimizing the use of local and global resources.
  • Providing leadership and oversight to teams responsible for Master Scheduling, Purchasing, and Material Management, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Maintaining strong supplier relationships to secure high-quality materials and timely deliveries, supporting the overall supply chain strategy.
  • Promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement, identifying and addressing root causes of issues proactively.
  • Ensuring effective communication and collaboration across departments, including Sales, Operations, and Finance, to align activities with company objectives and deliver exceptional customer value.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • Leadership and Operations experience in a manufacturing industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, formed through experience in collaborating effectively across functions and levels.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business priorities and market dynamic
  • Financial savvy, with the ability to ensure effective cost control.
  • Previous experience in a matrix organization.
  • Fluent English skills.
