Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Materials Manager will oversee the planning, procurement, logistics, warehousing (Receiving, storing, kitting & shipping) areas, inventory control, and distribution of materials and products according to customer requirements. This opportunity will allow the right candidate to make a difference towards business improvement by optimizing our supply chain / materials management process.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics or relevant field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a procurement, planning & warehouse management role
- Proven experience within Electronics industry is a plus
- Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems
- Advanced knowledge of forecasting and budgeting processes
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills
- Analytical mind with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Proven experience managing SAP ERP system is a plus
Responsibilities:
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working with management to identify supply chain channel opportunities.
- Recommending solutions to existing processes to reduce waste and increase efficiency in materials management.
- Managing the distribution of supplies in the organization.
- Monitoring inventory levels and access to the material.
- Overseeing and supporting subordinates and new employees.
- Preparing and filing detailed records on procurement activity, quantity, and vendors
- Designing and maintaining department budgets
- Coordinate with manufacturers and engineers to request field service parts to fix or install machines at customers’ sites
- Closely monitoring and maintaining accurate inventory status with warehouse team to match with ERP system records and replenish parts with optimum level to support operational needs.
- Supervising vendors for stable production with having quality control to ensure constant and reliable on time delivery performance
- Managing on-time shipment from vendors & to customers
- Discussing with sales team to allocate resources and products for clients to decide estimated shipment schedule
- Comply with all local regulatory QMS included but not limited to ISO9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, 13485) ensuring full compliance from areas of responsibility
- Works in conjunction with Operations Manager to develop production plans and forecasts.
- Develops sales forecasts and adjusts when release information indicates changes.
- Monitors inventory adjustments and cycle counting.
- Ensures regulatory compliance with federal, state and local laws.
- Manages Plant MRP requirements to meet customer expectations at the most efficient cost to the business.
- Identifies waste throughout the plant, with special attention to items contributing to plant inventory shrink including slow movers & Excess/Obsolete.
- Develops and updates any Materials procedures affecting any area of assigned work centers.
- Participates in the Health, Safety and Environmental program by following all policies, procedures and work instructions that may include safety rules, safety observation audits, regulatory compliance, environmental awareness and audits, and continuous improvement.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Materials Manager manages Materials functions, including but not limited to inventory, quality, pricing and delivery.
- Researching potential vendors and negotiating prices.
- Responsible for inventory accuracy management across all site operations.
- Collaborating with management to plan forecasting models.
- Planning and forecasting demand with flow materials to support consistently manufacturing for future orders
- Monitor and own the accuracy & reliability of master data on company ERP (SAP)
