The Materials Manager position will oversee the planning, procurement, storage, control and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or relevant field.
  • 5+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment as a Material Manager or related experience.
  • Experience in negotiating prices, terms and conditions.
  • Experience in Logistics (incoming material and outgoing international shipments)
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems.
  • 10 years of experience in materials procurement, planning and management in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in a high dollar/low volume manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, plan and implement procurement and inventory control strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing departments to manage supply needs.
  • Negotiate with vendors to achieve business objectives.
  • Track, measure and analyze vendor and supplier performance to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, price, continuity and delivery.
  • Supervise stock room and verify inventory levels to ensure on time deliveries.
  • Manage inventory cycle count process and physical inventory.
  • Supervise shipping and receiving duties as they relate to both incoming and outgoing materials and finished goods.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, determine root cause and corrective/preventive action needed.
  • Ensure that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all department functions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
