The Materials Manager position will oversee the planning, procurement, storage, control and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or relevant field.
- 5+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment as a Material Manager or related experience.
- Experience in negotiating prices, terms and conditions.
- Experience in Logistics (incoming material and outgoing international shipments)
- Working knowledge of ERP systems.
- 10 years of experience in materials procurement, planning and management in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience in a high dollar/low volume manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities:
- Develop, plan and implement procurement and inventory control strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing departments to manage supply needs.
- Negotiate with vendors to achieve business objectives.
- Track, measure and analyze vendor and supplier performance to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, price, continuity and delivery.
- Supervise stock room and verify inventory levels to ensure on time deliveries.
- Manage inventory cycle count process and physical inventory.
- Supervise shipping and receiving duties as they relate to both incoming and outgoing materials and finished goods.
- Identify opportunities for improvement, determine root cause and corrective/preventive action needed.
- Ensure that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all department functions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
