MATERIALS SCIENCE TECHNOLOGIST DEGREE APPRENTICESHIP
Work Location: Elland, West Yorkshire - A-SAFE HQ
Study Location: Sheffield Hallam University
Duration: 4 years (part-time)
Qualification: BEng (Hons) Materials Technology
REQUIREMENTS FOR MATERIALS SCIENCE TECHNOLOGIST DEGREE APPRENTICESHIP
We’re looking for individuals with:
- Academic Background:
- GCSE (or equivalent) mathematics and English language at grade C or grade 4, or above
- A minimum of 112 UCAS points (BBC at A-level or equivalent), including mathematics or a mathematics-based subject, plus at least one other STEM subject such as Physics, Chemistry, or Design Technology. Alternatively, a BTEC Level 3 in Engineering or a related discipline is acceptable.
- Passion for Innovation: A genuine interest in materials science, engineering, and problem-solving.
- Skills for Success: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, a curious mindset, and excellent communication skills.
- Ambition: A drive to learn, grow, and excel in both academic and practical settings.
Responsibilities:
As a Materials Science Technologist Apprentice, you’ll dive into the fascinating world of materials engineering. From understanding the properties of polymers and composites to experimenting with new ways to make our products stronger, more sustainable, and more efficient, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation.
Your time will be split between studying for your BEng (Hons) Materials Technology at Sheffield Hallam University and working on impactful projects at A-SAFE. You’ll learn how to test, develop, and refine materials, helping us to engineer solutions that are not only safer but also environmentally friendly.
