KNOWLEDGE:
- Principles and components of the Arizona Management System/lean methodologies and concepts
- Federal regulations, state statutes, rules, and policies as related to Medicaid implementation
- Issues, challenges, and barriers related to maternal health, preventive health, family planning, children’s health and oral health
- Programs and services affecting maternal and child health such as the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), the Arizona Early Intervention Program (AzEIP), Head Start/Early Head Start, home visiting, and Vaccines for Children (VFC)
- Basic understanding of Medicaid and managed care operations and functions
- Public health concepts, recommendations, and practices
SKILLS:

Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other internal and external partners and stakeholders, including but not limited to the AHCCCS medical management, medical coding, quality management, behavioral health, and quality improvement teams, the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), Department of Economic Security (DES), and community partners and coalitions.
- Interpret and evaluate policy, including taking the lead in review and development of new policies or policy updates.
- Participate in and lead health plan and provider compliance activities and reviews including, but not limited to, operational reviews, annual plans, network development, member handbooks, stillbirth supplemental payments, pregnancy terminations, and technical assistance.
- Support the MCH/EPSDT Manager in developing recommendations, issue briefs, decision forms, and other types of internal and external communication.
- Participate in Clinical Oversight Committee, Medical Director Meetings, QM/MM/QI/MCH/EPSDT Meetings, Financial Review Committee meetings, and other meetings on a regular or ad-hoc basis as needed.
- Review and analyze data provided by the health plans, internal AHCCCS data team, public health departments, or other sources to understand and interpret trends, implications, and potential actions that should be taken as a result of the data.
- Stay informed and apprised of current initiatives and issues related to women’s health, perinatal health, children’s, health, oral health, and family planning.
