Description:

Cardiothoracic Services is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, highly motivated Senior Nurse leader to fulfil the role of Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Matron. The department has 12 intensive care beds providing top quality, modern facilities for the management of heart and lung disease, enabling our multidisciplinary teams to work together to provide a high standard of care for patients across South Yorkshire and the Humber region.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic Senior Nurse, with extensive experience, to play a key role in the ongoing development of Cardiothoracic Surgical Services.
Strong professional leadership, clinical credibility and management skills are essential, as together with the Executive Team and Lead Clinicians, the post holder will provide visible leadership to deliver effective team working, effectiveness, patient focused care and excellent clinical outcomes.
The post holder will be instrumental in delivery of excellence and high-quality patient experience, whilst ensuring the operational delivery of the service.
The role of Matron is intrinsic to the success of the patient care pathway in influencing and working with our multidisciplinary and management teams. We provide a comprehensive range of services for the management of all cardiothoracic conditions.
Working within the framework of the Modern Matron principles, your key role will be to ensure clinical quality standards are achieved by providing inspirational and visible clinical leadership to the nursing teams working within CICU including Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
We are looking for a highly motivated, committed, and enthusiastic nurse leader passionate about delivering high quality compassionate care, who is equipped with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
You will be working for an organisation which values and respects all of its staff and the community it serves. The Trust is a leader in the NHS and research sectors and provides excellent benefits for its staff. This includes commitments to professional development but also many policies to support employees in balancing their personal and professional lives.
You will need to be flexible, enthusiastic, and passionate about the delivery of innovative safe patient centred care. To carry out this challenging role you must have proven intensive care nursing and leadership experience at Senior Nurse level within the acute hospital setting. You will also need strong interpersonal, negotiation and decision-making skills with the ability to challenge personnel and advanced nursing practise. You will be expected to contribute to the Trusts Duty Matron rota.
