POSITION INFORMATION
Job Title: Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)
Status: Full-time Permanent Position
Expected Start date: As soon as possible
Location : Langley Operations Facility located at 19770-101 Avenue, Langley, BC, V1M 3G6
Reporting to: Facility Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the general maintenance and quality of McAsphalt’s production/operating machinery, motors and equipment by ensuring preventative maintenance is provided and troubleshooting problems that occur.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Alberta Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate or a recognized interprovincial equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience in an industrial environment
- Ability to recognize risks to support safety in the workplace
- Organizational and time management abilities
- Experience with CMMS software a plus
- Class 5 Drivers License
Responsibilities:
- Follows all McAsphalt Health and Safety policies and Procedures.
- Maintain, repair & troubleshoot production related machinery and plant equipment;
- Responds to major emergencies during and after hours as needed;
- Supports Engineering and Operations in new construction and upgrade activities;
- Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs;
- Coordinates with Maintenance Coordinator for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently;
- Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with health and building regulations;
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on all production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications;
- Troubleshoots problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments;
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends;
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with McAsphalt policies and procedures.
- Provides scheduled and emergency inspection, testing, lubrication on machinery and mechanical equipment;
- Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair;
- Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site;
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications and establishing personal networks;
- Oversees the professional development of apprentice Industrial Mechanics
