Description:
JOB SUMMARY
CRISP Shared Services (CSS) serves as the technology partner for health information exchange (HIE) affiliates in Maryland, DC, West Virginia, Connecticut, Alaska, Virginia and other jurisdictions. CSS facilitates the electronic transfer of clinical information between disparate information systems in order to positively impact the healthcare system through improved patient care and outcomes, reduced costs, and data-driven understanding of regional public health concerns.
The MDH Reporting and Technical Analyst works closely with hospital staff, MDH representatives, and CRISP team members to facilitate the transmission of hospital reportable condition data to the state. The role ensures compliance of public health reporting with Meaningful Use and HL7 requirements. The role coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues as they arise.

EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience with stakeholder and relationship management preferred.
- Experience with healthcare interoperability standards required.
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare required.
- Experience with HL7 messages, particularly ADT, VXU, and ORU, preferred.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Facilitate hospital reportable condition data transmission to the state (e.g., electronic lab reporting, immunizations, syndromic surveillance, etc.).
- Monitor hospital reportable condition messages.
- Validate data formatting compliance with HL7 and MDH requirements.
- Use CRISP tools or perform a manual comparison to check data formatting against specifications.
- Coordinate with hospital staff to correct issues.
- Collaborate with Implementation manager and Outreach team on plan to bring feeds live.
- Provide quality assurance of formatting on live feeds and reviewing sample/test HL7 files.
- Maintain positive working relationships with hospital and MDH staff.
- Serve as main point of contact for reportable conditions feeds from MDH to CRISP.
