JOB SUMMARY

The Meal Program Associate (MPA) is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized and well-stock commercial and family kitchen spaces at the 123-room Ronald McDonald House at Stanford. Under the direct supervision of the Family Programs Manager, the MPA restocks all community pantries, fridges, and freezer ensuring food items are not expired, older stock is consumed first, and maintaining control over inventory. The MPA supports the Meal Program Coordinator by periodically cleaning the kitchen spaces to ensure a high level of quality control. MPAs are responsible for accepting and storing Sysco orders, food donations. Accepting and distributing daily meal orders from CateredToo, FarmingHope, and McDonalds. The MPA also aids the Meal Program Coordinator with MegaBITES groups, providing direction and support.
This MPA is tasked with preparing and serving lunch for school break camps, ensuring that all food preparation adheres to safe food handling practices. This role ensures that the commercial kitchen follows local and state regulations. The MPA works alongside the Kitchen Volunteers attending to family kitchen needs, restocking, and meal distribution. Additionally, The MPA keeps track of breakfast and dinner serving numbers and reports them to the Meal Program Coordinator.
The Meal Program Associate is a part-time, non-exempt role required to work some holidays and weekends. The MPA works 20 hours per every week.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma Required
  • 1 year of customer services experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER:

  • Spanish-speaking, a plus

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a well-stocked, organized, and clean community refrigerators, pantries, and freezers.
  • Ensure food items are not expired, spoiled or tampered with.
  • Keep track of house-provided food items and report to Meal Program Coordinator for ordering.
  • Guide the work of Kitchen Volunteers, utilizing them as an extension of the meal team to restock spaces, distribute meals, food quality control, and attend to the family needs.
  • Accept and distribute daily dinners from CateredToo, FarmingHope, and McDonalds, ensuring accurate record-keeping of meals received and distributed.
  • Perform walkthroughs in all three family kitchens, including breakfast areas, community pantries, fridges, and freezers throughout the day.
  • Maintain breakfast supplies in stock and properly labeled for Guest Service Associate team to set up.
  • Restock and put away daily continental breakfast items, including keeping records of consumption.
  • Collect family feedback including dinner satisfaction, food quality, service delivery, and food variety, as well as communicating any concerns to the Family Programs Manager.
  • Accept and store Sysco orders, focusing on temperature control procedures, food handling practices, and ensuring accuracy of orders.
  • Inspecting the family kitchen cooking supplies periodically and replacing any damaged or missing utensils.
  • Support the Meal Program Coordinator and Housekeeping team in cleaning the Commercial Kitchen including properly organizing food items in the commercial refrigerator, freezer, and pantry.
  • Support the Meal Program Coordinator with MegaBITES groups including planning, hosting, directing, serving, and cleaning up.
  • Plan, prepare, and serve lunch for school break camps.
  • Ensure the Commercial Kitchen complies with local and state health regulations.
  • Keep track of commercial kitchen refrigerator, freezer, and three-compartment sink’s temperature.
