Description:

This role reports to the Fleet Maintenance Manager and is responsible for achieving and maintaining required certifications. The Mechanic work as part of the maintenance team who ensures maintenance, diagnostic testing, and repairs are completed on all of the machinery used at Fer-Pal. This ranges from a cube vane to highway trucks.

CAPABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Achieve and maintain Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade or Heavy Duty Equipment Certifications (310 T).
  • Strong hydraulic experience
  • General automotive knowledge with automotive-related work experience
  • Strong ability to continuously learn to work on new equipment.
  • Ability to thrive and deliver results under pressure.
  • Microsoft Office fluent, strong PC skills
  • Able to do physical work: lift 50 up to lbs., able to stand for long hours, kneel.
  • Own transportation, valid driver’s license, and have a good driving record.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out maintain /repair/ other assignments, including, as required:
  • Diagnose faults and malfunctions.
  • Adjust / replace/ repair as required.
  • Test and ensure successful completion of work.
  • Document work performed, report on problems encountered /resolved.
  • Comply with legislated and company Health and Safety policies and practices.
  • Follow Fer-Pal processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in helping the shop team meet its goal.
