Overview:
Merrick Canada ULC is seeking a University Mechanical student for a paid summer Co-Op position for Summer 2024 at our Ottawa, Ontario office. Imagine working on rewarding client projects and being exposed to unparalleled training and development opportunities!
The summer Co-Op has a commitment of approximately May through August 2024.
We will be accepting resumes for this opportunity from approximately September – November 2024. Resumes will be reviewed as they are received. Interviews will take place in the Fall/Winter. Offers will be extended in Winter/Spring. Timeframe subject to change.
What You’ll Do:
The Merrick Co-Op Program will provide an undergraduate an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of mechanical engineering. The summer co-op student will provide an undergraduate student an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of mechanical engineering. The co-op student will be exposed to a variety of mechanical engineering items potentially including sizing of mechanical industrial components, piping systems, facilities design and exposure to quality requirements.
The position requires the collaboration with other disciplines, ability to interface with clients and contractors, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently, possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability to problem solve. Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality. Students who have recently graduated will not be considered.
Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled and completed at least 3 Years (6 Terms) or higher of undergraduate degree.
- Must be pursuing an engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB)accredited program.
- Client requirements for this position require Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience or exposure to AutoCAD or Revit.
- Local candidates are preferred.
