Job Description
We are currently offering an opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join us as a Mechanical Design Engineer. This role is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your expertise in factory automation and special purpose machine design. This is a fixed term position based at our Head Office in Clayton and may involve some local and interstate travel.
Responsibilities:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Developing lean mechanical concepts for tools, fixture and assembly stations
- Designing machines according to HSE guidelines
- Designing equipment using standard libraries and components
- Performing design reviews and risk assessments
- Providing technical support to contractors to design and fix machines
- Maintaining mechanical drawings according to Bosch quality standards and norms
- Supporting workshop team and suppliers during equipment build phase
- Preparing value propositions, quotations and customer presentation
- Creating and storage of standard parts for Computer Aided Design (CAD) database
- Providing design documentation and using checklists
Qualifications
We are looking for a conscientious professional who is results oriented, has the ability to prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines, be a team player and have excellent organisational and communication skills.
To be considered for this position you should be able to demonstrate:
- Bachelor level Mechanical Engineering degree preferred
- Sound knowledge in Manufacturing industry
- 3D CAD skills with Siemens NX Teamcenter preferred
- Adept with MS office applications
- Technically skilled with Industrial Automation Equipment, Robotics and Special purpose machine design (Essential)
- Valid Driver’s License
Ideally the successful candidate will have:
- Pneumatics and Robotics experience
- Strong, effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills
- Strong presentation skills and stakeholder engagement
