Description:
INTRODUCTION
We are working with a family-run, independent company who operate within the Building Services field. They are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team, specifically looking at designing HVAC systems. If you have HVAC experience (including using AutoCad / Revit) and want to join an independent business who work on a range of local projects, then this could be the role for you.
THE REQUIREMENTS OF A MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
- Building Services Engineering experience
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCad and other drawing packages.
- Excellent organisational skills and time management to manage an independent and varying workload.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability and enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Designing HVAC systems for a range of projects.
- Preparing specifications
- Liaising with clients to communicate progress, changes, and responding to any queries.
- Preparing specifications to support your designs.
- Recommending the most appropriate and cost-aware solutions, using your broad knowledge of systems and market knowledge.
- Working with the design team to overcome any issues and develop solutions as needed.
- Using AutoCad, Revit, and other programmes
- Participating in discussions on developing value engineering.
- Supervising testing and commissioning activities if needed, reporting on outcomes.
- Contributing to Quality Assurance procedures.
- Maintaining open communication both within the design team and clients.
- Upholding the values, vision and culture of the company.
- Occasionally attending off-site meetings if required by the project.
