Description:
COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Qualdoc is seeking experienced Mechanical Design Engineers to join an innovative industrial equipment company specializing in the design and manufacturing of custom automated machinery.
JOB SUMMARY:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems for custom automation equipment. You will collaborate closely with project managers, electrical engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure the successful execution of projects from concept to completion.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in automation or manufacturing.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) and familiar with ANSI/ASME drafting standards; experience with robotic systems and automation equipment.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional environments.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to design accuracy and documentation.

Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Create mechanical designs for automation equipment, including robotic cells, end-of-arm tooling, and mechanical systems.
- CAD Modeling: Develop and refine designs using 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Prototyping and Testing: Build prototypes and conduct performance and safety tests to validate designs.
- Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical and fabrication systems.
- Documentation: Produce detailed drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve mechanical design challenges during fabrication and installation phases.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in mechanical design and automation technologies.
