Qualdoc is seeking experienced Mechanical Design Engineers for an industrial equipment company specializing in the design and manufacturing of automated equipment.
Job Summary: As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical components and systems for our custom automation equipment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, electrical engineers, and fabrication teams, to ensure the successful execution of projects from concept to completion.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the automation or manufacturing industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred), knowledge of ANSI/ASME drafting standards, and experience with robotic systems and automation equipment.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in design and documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Create detailed mechanical designs for custom automation equipment, including robotic cells, end-of-arm tooling, and other mechanical systems.
  • CAD Modeling: Utilize 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to develop and refine mechanical designs.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes and conduct tests to validate design concepts and ensure they meet performance and safety standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with project managers, electrical engineers, and fabrication teams to integrate mechanical designs with other system components.
  • Documentation: Generate detailed drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues during the fabrication and installation phases.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and advancements in mechanical design and automation technologies.
