Description:

Our client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Rotorua Team, with weekly guaranteed hours at least 30 and $90K- $110K per annual.
Job duties:

To provide:

  • Engineering support and knowledge to the sales, service and manufacturing departments.
  • Ensure quality and timely delivery of service and product at a reasonable cost.
  • Efficient and eddective machine design that meets sales specification and provides the customer with production equipment that is fit for purpose.
  • Support the ongoing development of an existing product in an effort reduce manufacturing cost and increase functionality.

Tasks:

  • Ensure you work on the appropriate job priority, producing timely design outputs.
  • Produce workable concepts and designs from given parameters.
  • Apply problem solving abilities in mechanical engineering.
  • Assist all departments in the workshop, providing appropriate technical knowledge.
  • Day to day database input and extraction of information for various uses and services.
  • Be involved in producing quality assembly, detail drawings and issue sheets for the manufacture of components in the workshop.
  • Provide technical details for the production of machine manuals.
  • Preparation of equipment costings for sales quotations.
  • Application of due diligence in the management of the engineering part and machine cataloguing.
  • Comply with organizational health and safety.

Candidates will preferable posses the following skills and experience:

  • Qualified and at least 5 years relevant experience.
  • A sound understanding of the mechanical engineering manufacturing process, mechanical concepts and innovative design.
  • Extensive experience with mechanical engineering calculations and FEA analysis.
  • Familiar with 3D modelling.
  • A strong interest in the design process for R&D projects or steel manufacturing processes.
