Description:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Actively working towards a post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering, or alternate degree in a related Engineering Or a new Mechanical Engineering degree grad or new degree grad in a related Engineering field. Senior students or new grads preferred.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • Skilled at developing and maintaining strong relationships across all levels of the organization and with external customers and vendors

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare & edit calculations, analysis and assessment documents for the development of system and equipment design
  • Conduct research for design development and optimization
  • Facilitate communication and work with various technical disciplines to understand system design(s) and interfacing requirements
  • Coordinate and interface with the plant layout lead in the development of 3D CAD for the responsible mechanical systems
  • Assist in the development of design specifications to align with project requirements and industry standards
  • Contribute to timely resolution of mechanical design challenges and address risks
  • Participate in design review meetings to provide input, feedback, and support for design validation and improvement
  • Coordinate and support work with other disciplines
  • Conduct presentations to interdisciplinary team and external parties
  • Interface with external vendors, experts and design agencies
  • Exposure to nuclear, thermal, mechanical analysis and design of systems and components in relation to the reactor system
  • Exposure to reactor engineering design and analysis in neutronics, thermal-hydraulics, and/or radiation for steady state and transient conditions, including transport and Monte Carlo method
