In this role you have the chance to develop new, innovative product solutions for wafer metrology in the semiconductor industry as part of an engineering team.

As a Mechanical Development Engineer, you will

  • design and develop mechanical and electro-mechanical modules for production or metrology tools and make sure, functionality, manufacturability, regulatory and economic specifications are met
  • be responsible for the mechanical design of the modules and interfaces in the system as Module Owner or member a project team
  • be part of development projects with internal and external partners and be responsible for sub-projects
  • breakdown system specifications into mechanical requirements and align with the other R&D functions
  • test the prototypes in the laboratory or cleanroom and create the technical documentation to ensure the product’s performance
  • document and manage technical data (BOM, product requirements document, material master data)

Your Profile

  • a successful degree in mechanical engineering / mechatronics / precision engineering
  • experience in the mechanical design of complex production or metrology tools (ideally electron microscopes)
  • very good knowledge in SAP and CAD design (Creo)
  • knowledge in the design of vacuum components and components/modules under the conditions of machine dynamics
  • experience in areas of electron microscopy and/or semiconductor technology is an advantage
  • willingness to work hands-on in a small, inter-disciplinary team and “get it done” attitude
  • excellent oral and written communication skills in English, command of German language is a plus
