The opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in UK’s & Ireland’s Building Services sector. Alternative Heat design, develop and deliver a wide range of offsite-prefabricated, innovative, and sustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Europe.
We specialise in the design, supply, and installation of a wide range of prefabricated energy solutions, typically built in NI and shipped throughout the UK & Europe. We also offer turnkey design, build, and operate solutions for commercial energy centres and large-scale district heating solutions and have experience with successfully procuring and delivering many similar packages to a wide range of public bodies throughout UK & Europe.
We are currently looking to fill the role of Materials l Buyer to support our growing Purchasing Team in our new Frankfurt Office. This post is a permanent contract and offers an amazing opportunity for a candidate who wants to gain experience with a progressive and dynamic company to further their career.
We have an excellent opportunity for a Materials buyer to assist in the procurement of all Mechanical & Electrical material for many live projects. You will work closely with various departments in ensuring the smooth transition of all material ordering from Technical Approval to final stages of invoicing

Location | Frankfurt Office
Hours | 40hrs per week; 8.00am to 5pm Mon to Thu, 8am to 3pm Friday.
Salary | Competitive depending on experience
Responsible to | Purchasing Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate the best possible rates for Mechanical & Electrical plant and materials with local suppliers to stay within the budgetary requirement and purchase such materials
  • Manage the delivery of M&E materials direct to site in a clear and professional manner by ensuring all items are available when required.
  • Work to ensure all supplier invoices are cleared for payment in a timely manner to maintain the high-level of positive supplier relations expected by the company.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly checks to ensure all paperwork is up to date, all sites are being efficiently serviced and efficiency remains at the expected high level.
  • Build, manage & maintain relationships with local clients, suppliers, contractors & other construction professionals including site operatives.
  • Report to the Procurement Manager and company directors as required.
  • Work to follow the robust processes/controls already in place to increase efficiency and improve performance.
  • Ensure a safe working environment abiding by all necessary H&S requirements and legislation.
  • Supplier Vetting on EU contractors and suppliers
  • Will be responsible for all EU material purchasing for delivery direct to all site locations
  • Ensuring that the all contractors are in line with all planned programme’s of work on each site
  • Any other duties required to fulfil the requirements of the position.
