Description:

We are seeking a Fluids/Mechanical Analyst for a 6-12+ month contract with high possibility for extension/perm! This will be a remote role.

RATE DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE/LOCATION!

Responsibilities:

  • Design of various pressure vessel types, and shapes to accommodate vehicle space allocation and integration envelope.
  • Design of fluid lines and flex elements for cryogenic and space application.
  • Drawing generation, including tolerance and GD&T setup.
  • Ownership of design release cycle, including drawings release, and DFM reviews.
  • Analysis of primary and secondary spacecraft pressure vessels
  • Integration of structural analysis with loads and dynamics environments
  • Finite Element Model development, refinement, validation, and correlation to tests
  • Strength checks and analysis report generation
  • Test and verification plan and report generation
  • Support configuration development and trade studies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in the prediction/validation of low and/or high-frequency structural dynamics and loads, in addition to finite element modeling
  • Solid foundation of structural static/dynamic fundamentals
  • Passion for spacecraft structural/environmental loads development/validation
  • Ability to solve a variety of static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools)
  • Experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles, or automotive in some of the following areas:
  • External loads
  • Vibro-acoustic analysis
  • Thermal Loading
  • Analysis using Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, or Optistruct

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • COPV Pressure Vessel design and analysis
  • Metallic Pressure Vessel design and analysis
  • Fluids Lines design and analysis
  • Flex Elements design and analysis
  • Composite design and analysis skills in any thermoset, thermoplastic, metal matrix and ceramic matrix composites
  • Manufacturing methods, material selection, testing, characterization & allowable development
  • Experience testing materials, joints, components and vehicles
  • Structural optimization using standard industry codes (Optistruct, HyperSizer, Nastran Sol 200, etc)
  • Experience with ProEngineer Wildfire 4 / Creo Parametric or greater
  • Experience with ProEngineer Wildfire 4 / Creo Parametric or greater piping / routing module
  • Experience with Human spaceflight
  • Experience with composites
  • Experience with AIAA S-080 and S-081
  • Experience with EJMA Ninth and Tenth Edition
