Description:
PROJECT DETAILS (SIZE, SOW, SITE BACKGROUND, ETC.):
- Project ON-SITE (Atlanta VA Medical Centers and VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic’s (CBOCS))
- Pay Range: $110-120K
- Project Duration: Oct 1, 2024 - Oct 1, 2025, with 2 option years
The objective of this task order is to provide the Government with CM-Mechanical Engineer (CM-ME), as part of a Construction Management team, to provide professional services in support of the Projects Section’s mission of planning, scheduling, design, value management, and construction of projects to maintain and support Atlanta’s Veteran Affairs Medical Centers and associated Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinics (CBOCS). All work will be located and completed at Atlanta VA Medical Centers and VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic’s (CBOCS), and any offsite facilities as requested by the Facility Management Service Chief and approved by the Contracting Officer or delegate. The performance period is for October 1, 2024 - October 1, 2025, with 2 option years. The required support is needed to meet the infrastructure upgrades across Joseph Maxwell Cleland Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) and to include work at associated CBOCs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Federal projects and with the VA in particular
- Experience with Medical projects
Required Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certifications, Clearances, etc.):
- The CM-ME shall hold a bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- The individual shall have a minimum of six (6) years of experience in both design and construction with a focus on medical facilities.
- The CM-ME shall be able to quickly understand and master the requirements of the local state and federal jurisdictions and the requirements of each considering the Requirements of the Project.
- The CM-ME shall posses the knowledge of Construction Contract Documents including Front End and Technical Specifications and Drawings to readily understand and assess the requirements.
- The CM-ME must have the skillset and a working knowledge of engineering services, building codes, budgeting and scheduling to lead to the project’ success.
- The CM-ME must possess Communication, Language, and Software Skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the engineering analysis, development, design of and the preparation of complete plans and specifications for new work and improvements.
- Provides technical oversight and evaluation concerning all engineering disciplines as they pertain to all project work.
- Independently responsible and accountable for determining the action necessary in the development and completion of design projects, coordination of a project staff which may include architects, engineers, engineering technicians, draftsmen, and clerk/typists and review of the final contract documents.
- Surveys existing job conditions and confers with requesting medical center personnel to determine exact scope of project, phasing, impact on other medical center services and other specific design requirements
- Determines how project(s) will impact medical center based on results of a risk assessment that could have a severe impact on patient care
- Senior leadership and mentorship.
- Also, provides decisive guidance and direction in regard to the management of technical aspects of engineering related to building structures.
- Is responsible for the overall management, in terms of technical quality, cost and schedule.
