Description:
Seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Evansville, IN office! Looking for candidates that come from a heavy industrial background (oil & gas, chemical plant, steel mills, etc.) and an active PE is required.
All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US and will not require current or future sponsorship.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Licensed as a professional engineer.
- Ability to interact with a variety of people from clients/owners to contractors.
- Must be self-motivated and responsible.
- No driver’s license restrictions.
- Ability to walk all around client’s facilities for inspections, meetings, or other work.
- Ability to travel overnight if needed.
- Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, etc.
- Relevant experience (5-8 years) working in the mechanical engineering field in a heavy industrial setting.
- Familiarity with die-cast machine layout, processes, and operations.
- Ability to analyze options and relevant test data/results.
- Highly analytical mind, with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Know the latest in Mechanical Engineering codes – ASME, AWS, and NFPA.
- Ability to clearly document observations and existing field conditions.
- Proficiency in oral and written communication to share technical knowledge in a clear, concise, and understandable manner.
- Creativity and analytical skills.
- Extensive piping process experience is a plus. Working knowledge of pipe stress analysis software such as Caesar is preferred.
- Superior computer skills, with solid experience in AutoCAD. (3D experience in Inventor preferred)

- Alter and modify design to meet requirements and to eliminate malfunctions.
- Ensuring that products meet compliance with client and governmental regulations.
- Collaborating with project managers and other engineers on our team and with our clients.
- Creating plans and designs using CAD technology.
- Prepare product reports, scopes of work, and other technical documentation.
- Estimating budgets and time scopes for each project.
- Supervision of a small team of engineers and designers on various mechanical projects.
