HYG is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the organization and the Chassis Design Team. This role plays an important part in developing components (e.g. Steeraxles, frames, castings & large weldments) and assemblies to address customer needs. Engineering has high ownership of the design from brainstorming through start of production. You and the team will work closely with all aspects of the organization, including marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, and test validation to ensure that HYG delivers quality components and systems that exceed our customers’ expectations.

Responsibilities:
- Concept development for component & system design.
- Interface with component suppliers and internal customers (Platform, Manufacturing, Marketing, Service, etc.) to understand detailed product requirements.
- Translate truck-level and system-level requirements to component requirements.
- Create product design documentation – such as CAE (computer aided engineering), detail drawings, engineering lists, test plans.
- Plan and support development testing to ensure design robustness.
- Communicate both verbally and through written reports.
Qualifications:
- Formal education with a minimum B.S. in Engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic skills in Creo/NX (modeling, drafting, and layouts) and analysis techniques.
- Basic knowledge/skill in vehicle/automotive technology.
- Exposure to and interest in industrial equipment (e.g. forklifts, agriculture, trucks) is desirable.
- Innovative thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Attention to procedures and details to ensure accuracy in design, testing and records.
- Decision Making: Exhibit good judgment and ability to take decisive actions to develop product.
- Systematic Problem solving: Demonstrate ability to apply basic principles and methods to resolve product issues.
- Teamwork and Flexibility: Function well in a team environment. Solicit opinions from coworkers, support group decisions, and display team spirit. Be open minded and flexible enough to work effectively in an environment where project priorities may shift in response to customer needs.
- Ability to stay focused and achieve results while working from home and maintaining flexibility to be onsite at development center as required.
