Description:
SUMMARY
Summit Nanotech is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support various mechanical engineering activities within the company. This role involves contributing to a wide range of tasks related to the mechanical design of prototypes and commercial systems. As an intermediate engineer, you will oversee projects from conceptualization through design, manufacturing, and on-site installation of commercial systems. Additionally, you will provide support to other teams within Summit on mechanical projects as needed.
The ideal candidate should be able to think creatively and analytically while demonstrating flexibility to adapt to changes in project scope, direction, and timelines
SKILLS AND QUALITIES
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Excel.
- CAD skils, with SolidWorks preferred.
- Experience in designing process equipment, piping systems, and related components.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and first principles.
- Excellent project and time management skills.
- Ability to collaborate with various engineering disciplines and non-technical stakeholders to successfully complete projects.Ability to be flexible and jump in where needed.
Responsibilities:
- Design process equipment, piping systems, and structural frames for prototypes and commercial systems using SolidWorks.
- Apply data and fundamental engineering principles to design and specify process equipment, components, and tests/experiments.
- Create detailed mechanical drawings for quoting and fabrication purposes.
- Provide ad-hoc assistance to other teams on mechanical projects as required.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the company to understand customer requirements, business goals, and other engineering needs.
- Coordinate with specialty engineering consultants when necessary to ensure project completion.
