QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Professional Engineering license
- 8+ years of experience
SKILLS/QUALITIES:
- Strong experience preparing construction documents using discipline specific software (i.e. Trane Trace 3D/700, Carrier HAP, Revit, AutoCAD, etc.). Full production modeling is not required.
- Proactive and assertive in problem solving.
- Experience managing parallel assignments at the same time.
- Knowledge of energy modeling within building systems.
- Good written, oral communications, staff management and client relationship skills.
- Create, communicate, implement, and manage design solutions.
- Strong work ethic and a drive to exceed project and discipline expectations.
SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE:
- 5+ years of experience with Revit
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
- Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will specialize in the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems. This will include designing steam distribution, duct sizing and distribution, chiller and boiler systems within healthcare, government, house, federal, and education facilities. You will play a critical role in ensuring that buildings have safe and efficient plumbing systems that meet local building codes and regulations. This position will have overall responsibilities for the mechanical design of a project and will work closely with our other Engineering and Architecture disciplines on project deliverables.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conceptually working to put together a high-quality set of construction documents with HVAC equipment, ductwork, and piping systems.
- Assist in the following disciplines and subdisciplines: Fire Suppression, Plumbing, Medical Gas, and HVAC (ductwork + piping).
- Supporting project managers as part of the design process.
- Work with project managers to assign tasks and coordinate resource needs.
- Attend client meetings and design review meetings.
- Develop construction documents and design details.
- On-site construction administration and site inspection visits to assess the quality of the work.
- Coordination within a multi-disciplinary project team.
- Extensive experience working within professional services firm.
- Ability to mentor, provide guidance and be a technical educator for staff.
