Description:
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role in a healthcare environment.
- Strong knowledge of SHTM (Sottish Healthcare Technical Memorandum), PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance), and SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
- Excellent understanding of Engineering Building Services installation and maintenance techniques.
- Advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer (Heating & Plumbing) to join our Facilities Management team at the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People based in Little France, Edinburgh. This is a permanent position working 48 hours per week. The role will be on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, and working hours will be 0900 – 21:00. There will be participation in an out of hours on call rota, and overtime when necessary.
