Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MS Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 5-7 years’ relevant experience in engineering or related technical activities.
  • Experience assembling TDPs, creating Technical Order changes and updates for DoD customers.
  • Ability to navigate NAVAIR’s Systems Engineering processes regarding the development of Support Equipment using application development environments for avionics, jet engines, and engine controllers.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and MS Office
  • Specific experience in the development and integration of DoD support equipment.
  • Must possess organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to comply with all other requirements as specified within the CIEDA Personnel Policies and Procedures.
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
    Physical Requirements
    The physical demands described herein are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in a standard office or conference room setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer.
    To visit other company sites, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle and fly in an aircraft, both of which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time. Employees must possess vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas will be required. This position requires an employee to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance; reach, push, and pull drawers and doors open and closed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities:

The Mechanical Engineer II is an engineer who will contribute as a member of a dynamic engineering team. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical systems and components. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects meet technical requirements, quality standards, and project deadlines.

  • Assists in the engineering and mechanical design services to DoD customers.
  • Design and develop new designs and solutions for automated test systems.
  • Work on complex technical projects with other engineering team members
  • Apply mathematical and engineering principles and methods to mechanical system designs.
  • Engineering analysis including shock and vibration, stress and strength, system safety and human factors
  • Develop requirements and design documents. Update and maintain documentation.
  • Support customers in the root cause analyses of various issues and provide alternate solutions.
