For our De Nora Water Technology Business Unit, leading provider of equipment, systems, disinfection, and filtration solutions for water and wastewater treatment, Milan office, we are looking a Mechanical / Piping Engineer, who, within EMEA Engineering Team, plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge solutions for our specific projects and products.
With the role of reference specialist, related to the study and development of detailed engineering for the mechanical area, which includes the definition, the study and design of the plant layout, piping layout, civil inputs, piping and mechanical supports and mechanical equipment layout.
The job also includes:
- Definition of piping classes, general arrangement dwgs., isometric etc,
- The supervision of all the activities carried out by sub-contractors of external engineering,
- Support for the development of designs in both 3D and 2D using 3D software,
- Active participation in the meeting with the client (including sessions of 3D Model Review),
- Issue of Material Requisition, Data sheet and specifications needed to supply the complete package and related materials and / or services (from RfQ to the tabulations) up to the issue of the order,
- Supervises and supports subcontractor activities and compliance to the design,
- Evaluates construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans according to experience.
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Oil & Gas projects or similar plants
- Experience in large scale projects and with Majors Clients
- Advanced use of AutoCAD software
- Working experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) is a plus,
- Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics and materials science,
- Strong attention to detail, safety, and operability,
- Deep knowledge of mechanical national and international standards and codes.
Responsibilities:
- Accomplishment of the assigned tasks, realize on schedule and on budget all the requirements related to the projects and tasks,
- Ensure sound engineering practices, national/international rules, and customer’s technical specification appliance,
- Design optimizing costs, time, quality, and operability,
- Focus on safety during manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and operation.
- Attention to details and their feasibility,
- Identify, formulate, and produce effective solutions to emerging problems,
- Alter and modify design to meet requirements and to eliminate malfunctions,
- Solicit observations from operators,
- Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methods,
- Analyse and improve efficiency and operability of the existing plants/products. Support the implementation, where applicable,
- Support Line Manager in providing engineering support for plant activities,
- Liaise with Proposal and Sales, Operation to support the proposal, critically reading the client specification and helping in evaluating associated costs.
