Description:
Position Overview:
International Corporation, a leading North American truck manufacturer with great products, a strong market position and best-in-class distribution network, has an exciting new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Research and Development Team at our Advanced Technology Center in Elmendorf, TX just outside of San Antonio.
The Mechanical Engineer will coordinate and perform a wide variety of test activities on vehicle thermal systems for both ICE and EV powertrains. Specifics could include vehicle or transmission cooling, aftertreatment system validation, and component touch temperatures.
Responsibilities:
- Defines and creates test plans and new or novel test procedures.
- Executes tests based on standard work instructions for area under evaluation.
- Collects, processes, and interprets data from test activities to quantify system performance vs. requirements.
- Documents results via test reports.
- Proposes solutions for any issues noted during testing, or areas where requirements were not met
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
OR
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment
Additional Requirements:
- Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International Motors does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred)
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
- High level of computer literacy – Microsoft Excel/INCA/ETAS or other data aq & processing software.
- Hands on experience in a lab environment (Instrumentation, Data acquisition and analysis)
- Experience in truck and/or automotive design and development process
- Experience in release process of design and engineering changes for parts, assemblies, BOMs
- Understanding of manufacturing processes
