Description:

MECHANICAL ENGINEER - R&D

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our clients R&D team, where you will focus on the design, development, and testing of advanced cooling solutions tailored for data centres. This role requires a solid background in mechanical engineering, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. The selected candidate will contribute significantly to the evolution of our cooling technologies to address the growing needs of data centre operations.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and components.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical system design within an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) environment.
  • Deep understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
  • Proficient in creating documentation, project management, and maintaining organizational processes.
  • Experience in prototype development, testing techniques, and data interpretation.
  • Expertise in sheet metal design and piping systems.
  • Background in process cooling water systems design.
  • Experience with refrigeration system design is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and other relevant design software.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and development, with a focus on cooling systems

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to support the development of new products.
  • Develop and manage technical documentation such as design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
  • Provide ongoing technical support throughout the production and implementation stages of new products.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the R&D team.
  • Work alongside the R&D lab team to perform testing and validation on prototypes, documenting findings and iterating on designs as necessary.
  • Assist in the construction of prototypes to enhance design understanding and drive product improvement.
