Location: RAF Molesworth, PE28 0QA with potential travel to RAF Alconbury
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Within VIVO we are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to undertake maintenance activities at RAF Molesworth and RAF Alconbury.
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will work be responsible for maintaining HVAC equipment, including the on-site medium temperature boiler, therefore this role will include emergency callouts, using your provided work van.
You will be working independently to carry out mechanical installation work on HVAC equipment, water and heating systems, medium and high temperature oil boilers within the set timescales, and ensure works are compliant within site requirements and legislation.
You will need to be able to operate and maintain the boilers and HVAC systems, including inspecting and testing, conduct fault finding tests to detect to any issues, and be able to strip down and clean as required.
At the start of the month you will be assigned tasks through a provided tablet on Maximo and be able to self-schedule planned and reactive maintenance activities to a number of facilities. You will also be required to complete site records and forms to ensure that all records are kept for the maintenance undertaken.
This role will see you carry out reactive repairs / callouts on mission critical assets in a timely manner, this will involve participating in an on-call rota to cover emergency call outs during non-core hours.
What you’ll need to do this role
First and foremost, it is essential that you hold a City & Guilds Plumbing Apprenticeship Level 2 Mechanical OR an equivalent City & Guilds Mechanical Level 3 with an unvented qualification and it is desirable that you have a Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme (BOAS) qualification. It is also essential that you have experience working with HVAC mechanical ventilation systems, as well as Legionella awareness and training in maintaining water hygiene.
Experience with Oil Fired appliances above 45Kw Output and pressure systems is also essential. You will also need an OFTAC qualification to service high temperature oil boilers.
This role will require you to work independently and self schedule your own time to complete tasks in set time scales.
It is desirable that you have experience of operating within either an MOD or Construction/Property Maintenance environment.
You must be able to pass SC Clearance to be considered for this role.
