To support its growth and expansion, SSM is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer to the team.
Reporting to the Engineering Lead, this position is accountable for the mechanical design of custom HVAC air handlers.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience using both AutoCAD and IronCAD.
- Engineering degree or diploma with eligibility or membership in APEGA or ASET.
- Strong proficiency in both verbal and written communication.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with multiple, changing priorities.
- Keen attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
- Proficiency in problem solving and critical decision making.

Responsibilities:
- Designing mechanical equipment for functionality, serviceability and performance.
- Drafting air handling equipment.
- Liaising with the Electrical Designers to ensure design conformance.
- Creating submittals for issuance to external customers.
- Selecting components used for the design of the Scott Springfield product line. This may include the use of selection software or consultation with vendors to ensure proper component selection for performance and price.
- Researching codes and standards.
- Updating and maintaining the drawings and internal documentation.
- Providing technical assistance in the application and design of mechanical equipment for specific projects.
